Bachelor programs
The school offers 3 Bachelor programs: BA in Business English, BA in Translation and Interpreting, and BA in English Studies. The BA in English studies is divided into 3 streams: English Literature, Linguistics and International communication.
From the 1st academic term to the 3rd term, students will receive general education and disciplinary education without being divided into different streams. General education provides students with optional courses in terms of literature, history, philosophy, economy, management, law, science (mathematics, statistics, computer), art, sports and so on. Disciplinary education includes courses on English listening, speaking, reading, writing, translation, linguistics, English literature, Business studies and so on.
By the end of the 3rd academic term, students can choose a certain stream based on their preferences and academic performance in the first academic year.
In the 4th academic term, students focus on their stream studies.
Students of Business English Studies are expected to master essential theories of English business communication and then focus on the theory and practice of business knowledge including economy, management, law and so on.
Students of Translation and interpreting are expected to master fundamental translation and interpreting theories. Based on that, students will focus on the study of business, Translation Theory and have hands-on translation and interpreting practice especially in areas that concern business.
Students of English Studies (in literature) are expected to master the basics of literature and culture and then focus on the theory and stylistics of English Literature.
Students of English Studies (in linguistics) are expected to master basic theories of language and culture and then focus on systematic study of linguistics.
Students of English Studies (in international communication) are expected to learn rhetoric and cross-cultural communication and focus on international business news and communication.
BA in Business English
BA in Business English program was the among the first English undergraduate programs approved by the Ministry of Education. This program is aimed at preparing students to become “Multilingual+” talents who are capable of English proficiency, concerns of humanity, intercultural awareness and global vision to meet the urgent need of global economic development and national development. It nurtures students to master general rules and norms of international business, be proficient in general and expertise business practice, cross-cultural communication and cross-cultural business communication, and can engage in international business work, which will sustain students’ development in a wide range of fields including foreign affairs, business and trade and multinational companies, and as practitioners and researchers of international business.
Curriculum: Introduction to Cross-cultural Communication (English); Principles of Economics (English); Import and Export Practice (English); Introduction to Commercial Law (English); International Trade (English), etc.
BA in Translation and Interpreting
This program aims to develop advanced “Bilingual+” talents who have concerns of humanity, a sense of social responsibility, good mentality, international vision and innovative ability. In order to meet the needs of national economic and trade development, as well as the economic globalization, this program focuses on developing students into talents who are proficient in knowledge about translation theories, translation and interpreting practice, especially in international economy and trade. The graduates have proved to be competitive in government’s department of foreign affairs, foreign institutions, multinational corporations, Chinese-funded enterprises and various social organizations. As excellent practitioners and researchers of translation and interpreting, they are engaged in conducting exchanges and cooperation in international politics, economy and trade, and culture following international norms.
Curriculum: Business Translation (English-Chinese), Business Translation (Chinese-English), Introduction to Translation (English), Literary Translation (English), Consecutive Interpreting (I), Consecutive Interpreting (II), etc.
BA in English studies
This program is devoted to cultivating advanced “Multilingual+” talents who have a sense of social responsibility, English proficiency, profound knowledge of literature and culture, and international communication skills. Besides, it aims to equip students with sound knowledge of international business and journalism, cross-cultural perspective, great communication skills, which will sustain students’ development in international financial journalism and communication. The graduates can engage in financial news editing and media management in news agencies, publishing, online media and publicity institutions, or to work out public-relations, international communication and exchanges in public institutions, various companies, government institutions and so on.
Curriculum: Comprehensive Business English, History of World News and Communication (English), Ethics of News and Communication, Introduction to Communication (English), Contemporary Financial News Practice (English), Theory and Practice of New Media, Practice of Financial News Writing (English), etc.
Double Bachelor’s Degree Programs
Finance and English Double Degree Program
· Aims to cultivate high-level international talents with expertise in both finance and English.
· Key Courses for Finance Major: Bank Management, International Finance, Investments, Corporate Finance, Financial Risk Management, Financial Derivatives.
· Key Courses for English Major: Courses may vary based on the chosen English specialization (e.g., Business English, Translation, or English).
Law and English Double Degree Program
· Aims to develop globally oriented, interdisciplinary professionals with a strong foundation in both law and English, particularly in foreign-related legal fields.
· Key Courses for Law Major: Commercial Law, Economic Law, International Public Law, Intellectual Property, Private International Law, International Economic Law.

English and Accounting Double Degree Program
· Aims to produce well-rounded, interdisciplinary professionals skilled in both accounting and English, prepared for senior positions in finance and business sectors.
· Key Courses for Accounting Major: Accounting Practices and Experiments, Integrated Management Accounting with Business Finance, Corporate Financial Statement Analysis, Advanced Financial Accounting, Big Data and Auditing.
